LED PRO Lenses
Patented lenses that reduce glare and fatigue from LED light — screens, headlights and office lighting.

What is LED light?
LEDs consume up to 90% less energy than traditional bulbs and have become the standard in modern lighting. White LED light is produced by combining a narrow blue spectrum (450 nm) with a broad yellow-green spectrum (590 nm) — perceived by the eye as white light, but with sharp intensity peaks rather than a smooth spectrum.
LEDs are significantly brighter than conventional bulbs. That intensity can cause discomfort and visual fatigue, especially after prolonged exposure or when light shines directly toward the eyes.

How LED PRO works
LED PRO uses a selective wavelength absorption dye, patented by Younger Optics, that targets two specific wavelengths — 450 nm and 590 nm — rather than absorbing light across the whole visible spectrum.
This attenuates the LED emission peaks that cause glare and fatigue, while letting the rest of the spectrum through — so colours stay bright and natural.
Spectral graphs are theoretical. Real LED light spectral output may vary slightly.

LED PRO benefits
Night driving
A UK government study2 found most drivers are bothered by LED headlights, with higher severity among older drivers — some avoid driving after dark altogether.
Sports arenas
Evening sports under artificial lighting — tennis, pickleball, football — expose players and spectators to strong LED illumination and visual fatigue.
Indoor & office lighting
Most indoor lighting today is LED, often brighter than conventional bulbs. LED PRO attenuates the light waves at 450 and 590 nm for improved comfort.
Screens & gaming
Most monitors and consoles use LED technology. Prolonged exposure can cause fatigue and headaches — LED PRO reduces this for computer users and gamers.

Frequently asked
Primary or secondary pair?
LED PRO are Category 0 lenses that can be prescribed as a primary pair in place of clear lenses, or as a versatile specialty pair for night driving, computer use, gaming or low-impact sports.
What is the % transmission?
The approximate VLT is 78%, depending on Rx and lens thickness. An AR coating is highly recommended, bringing VLT to nearly 90%.
Why do LED PRO lenses have a hue?
The specially formulated filter absorbs the specific frequencies at 450 and 590 nm that cause the most discomfort in bright white LED light. Most people adapt to the colour shift within minutes and notice increased comfort from the first day of use.
LED PRO lenses clinical study results
Participants rated their satisfaction with standard lenses and LED PRO lenses on a scale from 1 (worst) to 5 (best).
rated LED PRO lenses 4 or higher for glare and reflection reduction, vision in artificial light, adaptation ease, and low-light vision.
rated LED PRO lenses at 4 or higher for visual comfort and vision in natural light.
rated LED PRO lenses at 4 or higher for visual fatigue, colour perception and overall vision.
